Saif Ali Khan looks
to be in some problem regarding his Padma Shri award, succeeding a objection by
RTI advocate Subhash Agarwal asking the union ministry of home affairs to take back
the award, as the actor has criminal cases awaiting against him. Agarwal said,
“I had filed an objection in the ministry when a Mumbai court had framed
charges adjacent to him. I had demanded that the Padma award must be taken back
from him. This is not the first time I have filed a complaint. When he was
bestowed the Padma award he was occupied in a range of cases and I have
objected that how did the investigating agencies clear his name and who has suggested
his name?”
“The entire procedure
of assortment for the Padma awards is out of order. In a two-four hours’ get-together,
10 members collectively select 100 members out of 1500 members. It is only probable
if it’s a pre-approved list and is endorsed as a rubber squash,” he further
said.
But whether the actor
would truly lose his award what's left to be seen. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla
said that it was erroneous to conclude from news and reports that the Nawab’s
Padma award is being taken back or even whether the process is on track.
